Online Therapy in Durham, NC
For researchers, clinicians, and graduate students carrying more than the work.
HIPAA-compliant telehealth video sessions, not in person
Where the Job Is Also an Identity
Durham is hospitals, labs, dissertations, grant cycles, and the startups that spin out of all three. The people here tend to be thoughtful, precise, and hard on themselves. The reward structure is slow and the criticism is constant, which is a demanding combination for anyone who feels things deeply.
Highly sensitive adults often thrive in this kind of careful work. The same depth of processing that makes you good at it also means one comment in a committee meeting can occupy a week, and a patient's suffering does not stay at the hospital.
What Usually Brings People In
Perfectionism that has stopped producing anything. Compassion fatigue after years of being the steady one for other people. An academic timeline that has swallowed a decade. Imposter feelings in a building full of experts. Trouble stopping work at a defined hour when the work is never finished.
We look at where your standards are serving you and where they are just a way of never resting, and we practice recovery as a real skill rather than something you earn.
How Sessions Work
All sessions are HIPAA-compliant telehealth video sessions. There is no Durham office, so nothing here requires crossing campus or finding a place to park between obligations. Adults, North Carolina only.
No office, anywhere
All appointments are HIPAA-compliant telehealth video sessions. There is no address to drive to in this city or in any other, and no in person option. I am licensed in North Carolina only and see adults who are physically in the state during their sessions. I do not promise a particular outcome or a set number of sessions.

Questions From Durham Clients
Do I need to come to an office?
No. Every session is a HIPAA-compliant telehealth video session. There is no office in Durham or anywhere else.
What if I travel or move within North Carolina?
That is fine. As long as you are physically in North Carolina during our sessions, where you are in the state does not matter.
Do you work with couples or families?
No. I work with individuals 18 and older. If a relationship is part of what brings you in, we work on it together one on one.
Do you take insurance?
No. My practice is private pay. We go over fees during your free consultation.
