Highly Sensitive Therapy & Wellness

Therapy for Highly Sensitive People in Greensboro, NC

For people who sit in the truck a while before going inside, and never knew why.

HIPAA-compliant telehealth video sessions, never in person

Sensitivity Without the Vocabulary

Most people who fit this trait have never heard it described. They know they need quiet after work. They know a raised voice sits with them all night while it seems to slide off everyone else. They know a bright, loud, urgent room takes something out of them that it apparently does not take out of the guy beside them.

That is high sensitivity. It is a normal variation, it shows up in about one in five people, and it says nothing about how tough you are.

A Sensory Environment That Does Not Negotiate

Greensboro works in plants, warehouses, freight yards, and the roads between them. Those are places with real physical input. Constant machine noise. Overhead light for the whole shift. Alarms. Cold docks. Radio traffic. Somebody needing an answer right now.

None of that is adjustable, and the trait does not care that it is not adjustable. Ten hours of that input has a cost, and if you never account for it you end up assuming the exhaustion is a personal failing rather than a straightforward result.

Bringing It Home

The pattern that brings people in is usually about the household, not the job. You come in the door with nothing left, and the people who have been waiting all day get the flat version of you. Then you feel bad about it, which costs more.

We work on what a real reset looks like in the twenty minutes you actually have, how to say what you need without it sounding like a complaint, and how to stop treating a normal nervous system as something to apologize for.

This Page Is Probably for You If

  • You need silence before you can talk to anyone after a shift
  • One sharp exchange stays with you the whole night
  • Noise and glare wear you down more than the physical work does
  • You have been told you take things personally

How sessions work

I am Ryane Miller, MSW, LCSW. My North Carolina clinical social work license is held under my legal name, Ryan Miller, #C012653. Every appointment is a HIPAA-compliant telehealth video session. There is no office in Greensboro and no in person option anywhere. I work with adults who are physically in North Carolina during their sessions. I do not promise a particular outcome or a set number of sessions.
