Burnout Therapy in Wilmington, NC

For people whose year has one long sprint in it, and a recovery that never quite happens.

HIPAA-compliant telehealth video sessions, never in person

A Year That Comes in Waves

A lot of work here is not spread evenly. The season loads up and everything is at once, then it empties out and the income goes with it. Hospitality, healthcare that absorbs the same surge, trades that follow the building calendar, production work that arrives as a project and demands everything for its duration.

The burnout that comes from that shape is distinctive. You are not tired from a steady grind. You are tired from repeated maximum effort with an unreliable trough afterward, where the rest you needed gets spent on financial worry instead.

When the Weather Is Part of the Load

Storm season adds a category of demand most people outside the coast do not account for. Watching forecasts, preparing property, making calls about whether to go, handling what is left afterward, and doing all of it again the following year.

That is real work even when nothing lands. It occupies attention for months, and it lands on top of everything else rather than replacing any of it.

Working With the Cycle Instead of Against It

The useful questions are practical. What does the on season actually cost you, measured honestly. What has to be protected inside it so you arrive at the other end with something left. What the off season is for, and whether it is currently being used for recovery at all or entirely for anxiety about the next one.

All sessions are secure video. There is no office here, including in Wilmington, where I live. Adults, North Carolina only, and no promise of a set outcome.

Common Reasons People Reach Out

  • You survive the season and never really come back from it
  • The quiet months are full of dread about money
  • You dread the forecast the way other people dread a deadline
  • You cannot remember the last stretch that felt like rest

How sessions work

I am Ryane Miller, MSW, LCSW. My North Carolina clinical social work license is held under my legal name, Ryan Miller, #C012653. Every appointment is a HIPAA-compliant telehealth video session. There is no office in Wilmington and no in person option anywhere. I work with adults who are physically in North Carolina during their sessions. I do not promise a particular outcome or a set number of sessions.
