Burnout Therapy in Asheville, NC
You can love every one of your jobs and still be flattened by having four of them.
HIPAA-compliant telehealth video sessions, never in person
Burnout Without a Single Employer to Blame
A great deal of work here is assembled rather than held. A shift, a market, a contract, teaching on the side, a booth on weekends. Each piece is chosen, and several are genuinely enjoyed, which is exactly what makes this version hard to recognize.
Burnout does not require that you hate the work. It requires sustained demand without sufficient recovery. Four things you love can produce it faster than one thing you tolerate, because none of them has a boundary and all of them feel like they deserve your best.
When Rest Costs Money You Do Not Have Spare
Add the arithmetic. Housing costs here do not scale down with a slow February. If rest is unpaid, then rest becomes a purchase, and it is competing with rent. So the answer to exhaustion becomes another shift, which is how a person ends up working hardest at the moment they have the least available.
I want to be straightforward that therapy does not change that arithmetic. What it can do is stop you from spending your remaining energy on guilt, and help you make deliberate choices instead of reactive ones.
What We Look At
Which commitments are actually paying you, in money or in meaning, and which have simply persisted. What one protected block a week would need to look like. How to be finished for the day when nobody tells you that you are. Whether the identity of being someone who can handle anything is quietly making the decisions.
Sessions are secure video, adults, North Carolina only. No office in Asheville or anywhere else, and no promised outcome.
Common Reasons People Reach Out
- You have several jobs and no clear day off
- The creative work you built everything around has gone quiet
- Slow season anxiety and busy season exhaustion, with nothing between
- You feel guilty resting because the work is technically yours
How sessions work
I am Ryane Miller, MSW, LCSW. My North Carolina clinical social work license is held under my legal name, Ryan Miller, #C012653. Every appointment is a HIPAA-compliant telehealth video session. There is no office in Asheville and no in person option anywhere. I work with adults who are physically in North Carolina during their sessions. I do not promise a particular outcome or a set number of sessions.
