Burnout Therapy in Raleigh, NC
When the workday has no edge, the recovery has nowhere to happen.
HIPAA-compliant telehealth video sessions, never in person
A Day That Never Formally Closes
Raleigh work often has no closing bell. Distributed teams across several time zones, a chat channel that stays warm past ten, a public sector calendar where the session or the deadline drives everything and the notice is short.
Burnout in that pattern is less about any single crushing week and more about the absence of a boundary anywhere. You are never fully working and never fully off. The nervous system reads that as ongoing low grade demand, and it never gets the signal that the threat has passed.
How It Shows Up Before You Name It
Concentration goes first. You reread the same paragraph. Small decisions get expensive. Then irritability, usually pointed at the people who are safest, which tends to be whoever lives with you. Then the flattening, where things you chose deliberately stop registering as yours.
If you are also a deep processor, this comes earlier than it does for the people beside you, because your hours cost more than theirs. That is worth knowing rather than treating as a character flaw.
Rebuilding an Edge
The practical work is largely structural. Where the day stops. What happens in the hour after it stops. Which notifications are genuinely urgent and which have simply never been questioned. What you are willing to be slower at.
The less practical work is the belief underneath, usually that availability is the same thing as value. That one takes longer, and it is generally the one that matters.
Sessions are adults only, by secure video, anywhere in North Carolina. I do not promise a specific outcome or number of sessions.
Common Reasons People Reach Out
- You check messages in bed and call it winding down
- Time off gets used recovering rather than living
- You feel behind even on the days you did everything
- The work you chose on purpose has stopped meaning anything

There is no office in Raleigh and no in person option anywhere. I work with adults who are physically in North Carolina during their sessions.
