Highly Sensitive Therapy & Wellness

Empathy Without Depletion

Therapy for Empaths and Deep Feelers

Being the person everyone brings their hard days to is a gift and a weight. Empaths often know exactly how everyone in the room is doing and have no idea how they are doing themselves.

You Might Recognize This

If several of these sound familiar, you are in exactly the right place. None of them need to be severe to be worth bringing to a session.

  • Leaving conversations carrying someone else's mood
  • Saying yes before you have checked whether you have capacity
  • Guilt when you rest or decline
  • Feeling responsible for other people's comfort
  • Losing track of your own preferences

How We Work on This Together

01

Separating Their Feelings From Yours

We work on the skill of noticing where you end and someone else begins, staying warm and present without absorbing everything in the room.

02

Boundaries That Are Not Walls

Boundaries do not require becoming colder. We practice specific language and small experiments so that protecting your energy still feels like you.

03

Getting Your Own Needs Back

Part of the work is rebuilding a habit many empaths lost early: checking in on what you want before answering for everyone else.

Approaches I Draw From

  • Boundary and assertiveness work
  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
  • Emotion-Focused Therapy
  • Strengths-Based Therapy

Sessions are held online over a confidential, HIPAA-compliant platform and are available to residents anywhere in North Carolina.

Questions People Ask

Is this the same as HSP therapy?
They overlap. Many empaths carry the Highly Sensitive Person trait, and we can assess that during your consultation.
Will I lose my empathy?
No. The goal is to keep it and stop paying for it with exhaustion.
How long does this work take?
It depends on your goals. We revisit progress together rather than assuming a fixed timeline.

If You Need Help Right Now

Therapy sessions are scheduled and are not a crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
